About Khao Kalok

Khao Kalok is a charming corner of white sand beach 30KM from Hua Hin and a few KM from Pranburi, a scenic and beautiful spot for a picnic, BBQ, or trekking over the mountain which offers great panoramic views of Pak Nam Pran and Sam Roi Yot. The name means ‘Skull Mountain’ on account of the rock formation which looks like a human skull and it is one of the lesser known beauty spots in Thailand, off the beaten tourist trail.

Nearby vendors will supply cold drinks and beach mats/deck chairs, and BBQ chicken, coconuts and other snacks, or you can bring your own but be sure to clean up after your fun.

You’ll find this area very quiet during the weeks with more people on the weekends and a small crowd on long holidays, nearly all the visitors are Thai. There is the occasional music festival here where you can enjoy live jazz, and market stalls.

On the other side of the mountain you will find a good restaurant with incredible views of Sam Roi Yot and the islands. There are several small but very good coffee shops and restaurants along this beach strip which is having a walkway and sea wall built at present. There is also a fresh seafood market here where you can pick up great deals on seafood and organise fishing trips also.
