Why Don’t We Publish Exact Property Locations?

One of the questions we’re asked most often is, “Can you send me the exact address or Google Maps location?”

We totally understand why you’d ask, but there are several important reasons why we don’t publish or freely share this information.

Security and Privacy
Our first priority is the privacy and security of our clients. Many properties are vacant but fully furnished, while others are occupied by the owners. Publishing an exact address online can expose a property to unnecessary security risks or result in unannounced visits from strangers.

Many owners, particularly those living alone, understandably prefer that viewings are arranged through an agent rather than having people arrive at their home without notice.

Protecting Our Clients and Our Work
Some buyers believe they can negotiate a better price by contacting the owner directly and bypassing the agent. However, most owners appoint an agent for a reason. We handle enquiries, arrange viewings, answer questions, negotiate on their behalf, and guide both parties through the sale or rental process. This makes the experience smoother, safer, and less stressful for everyone involved.

Finding quality properties, building relationships with owners, and marketing homes requires a significant investment of time and money. It’s reasonable that the information we’ve worked hard to obtain isn’t simply made publicly available.

Unfortunately, it is also common for freelance agents or competing agencies to pose as buyers in order to obtain property addresses and approach owners directly. This is unfair to both the property owner and the agency representing them.

What We Do Instead
We normally provide an approximate location, usually within about one kilometre of the property. This gives you a good understanding of the surrounding area without compromising the owner’s privacy or security. It also means we don’t have to publish exact addresses online, where we have no control over who may access them or how the information may be used.

If you’re genuinely interested in a property, simply contact us. We’ll happily answer your questions, provide additional information, arrange a viewing, and share the exact location once an appointment has been confirmed.

We know that location is one of the most important factors when buying or renting a home. While a property may not seem to be in your ideal area at first glance, we’ve helped many clients who were pleasantly surprised after viewing it in person.
