Everyone knows that stray/homeless dogs are a huge problem in Thailand, and the areas around Pranburi and Hua Hin are certainly no exception. Whatever the cause may be (lack of neutering, neglect, etc) it is refreshing to know that there are people out there doing everything they can to help.
Temple Dogs is a Pranburi based organisation that has been visiting local temples such as Wang Pong Temple and Na Huay Temple since 2005, and treats the dogs left there (dogs are often abandoned at temples in Thailand) for parasites, gives vaccinations against diseases and also provides neutering to female dogs.
Temple Dogs also arrange for unwanted dogs and puppies to be adopted by caring owners, some of these temple dogs have even ended up as far away as Holland and the Czech Republic! This is a top priority at the moment as there are so many young healthy dogs in desperate need of a good home.
This is a great cause, and like all great causes, YOU CAN HELP! Please visit the Temple Dogs website (a very good website, updated regularly with progress of the dogs and adoptions, news and more) and see what you can do to be a part of it. Their GALLERY has dozens of heart warming pictures and their STORIES are also very touching.
CONTACT Temple Dogs here. There is a lot you can do to help, from any kind of donation to opening your hearts and home to a new 4-legged family member.
