Independent Japanese Restaurant in Hua Hin

Looking for decent Japanese food in Hua Hin but bored of the chain stores you find are the same all over Thailand?

Check out ‘Nani wa Neko’ Japanese Tepanyaki in soi 94 Hua Hin by Chef Top, a long established Hua Hin restaurateur who has opened a new restaurant with large Tepanyaki grill and offers a solid menu of Japanese food including sushi, sashimi, ramen, yakisoba, okonomiyaki, curry, katsu, gyouza, fish dishes and many others.

Chef Top has years of experience behind him and not only offers extremely reasonable and tasty food, but also a lot of entertainment while he prepares it! Expect to see him flairing and juggling pepper shakers, sauces and ingredients while he puts together your dish on the hot grill in front of you, and if you bring children they will be entertained by his close up magic tricks and illusions.

Nani wa Neko is open for lunch and dinner and is located up soi 94, go all the way to the top, turn right at the end, then immediately turn left up past the new Saxophone Jazz bar, and you’ll see Nani wa Neko on the right. There is outdoor seating on regular tables as well as a low seating platform and around the tepanyaki grill.

Dishes range from around 50-200 Baht and all is very reasonable and prepared fresh in front of you. For fans of Japanese cuisine, this makes a real change from the usual suspects you find in every shopping mall throughout Thailand and offers entertainment, atmosphere and variety as well as decent food.
